Let’s talk more about how your niche expertise influences your perceived value.
How Niche Expertise Influences Perceived Value
Respect and Appreciation is earned. Being seen as the expert in your interest leads to you becoming the authority figure if the perception’s held for long enough. With that, you also get the opportunity to monetize that achievement and make it a career that’ll last for the long term.
Respect and Appreciation
Respect and appreciation are values that I personally champion.
I’m aware that not everybody cares for either, but allow me to make my case for what’s got me so high on them. Respect is something that’s earned truly.
People have a warped perception on believing that it’s what you have when people simply comply with your requests. That’s so far from the truth! I believe it’s an internal influence that others show you because they appreciate who you are as an individual.
Appreciation is the next value because it’s related, but I’d argue that it’s a little more direct of an accomplishment. I see it as where your actions lead to what people appreciate about you. It’s synonymous with who I am being a person that likes to let their actions do most of the talking when presenting themself.
Becoming The Authority Figure
Becoming authority means more than just a simple title without meaning.
It means you’re part of the leadership ecosystem. You have to look at it as being part of a world or community that you’re not aware of every single person in it. Your “fame” appears with the assistance of the reputation you earn for yourself.
When you’re an authority figure, it means you have credibility. There’s someone else or others that are co-signing your capabilities as someone that can really educate the industry.
If you continue to deliver with such a reputation, it generates notoriety. It’s different from reputation because it’s at a higher level. It may be easier to see it as your reputation’s being what you’re known for, but having notoriety is being known for doing something well.
Monetizing Your Knowledge
Eventually there comes a point where what you know becomes valuable to the market you’re aware of, and sometimes in others you’re not.
There several ways to go about making money off your knowledge alone. It’s gonna be up to you to choose which way suits you best. I’d like to share one way that might suit your business:
Creating a Paid Group
Paid groups are in place to where you can monetize your specialized knowledge.
You have to get creative in how you share your knowledge in a way that’s valuable. Maybe you show your audience how to do something at what’s considered a high level. There’s too many possibilities to stick with just one route, but figure out what’s beginner knowledge, medium, and advanced. That’s what makes you deliver and rightfully earn profits on your campaign.
If I’m sharing a personal example, I can recall wrestling camps that I’d host. It could easily be considered a paid group since there were fees to satisfy before you could participate. Because I had knowledge was much higher than the students I was teaching, it justified my demand to receive compensation for my time.
Making a career out of niched knowledge
You’re able to make a full time income out of being considered a master in something. As long as money flows in the industry you’re interested in, you could always capitalize off that opportunity. Please remember that.
If you’re choosing to earn off your intellectual property, at the very least you’re choosing to be self employed.
What many tend to forget though is that you have to be committed to doing this.
It’s a commitment because there’s always going to be problems that need to be solved in humanity. If you’re someone that knows how to solve whatever issue the members of your community are having, it takes patience to help each individual reach their definition of success.
