What mistakes cause content to feel low-value even if it’s informative? (Answered)

Let’s discuss what mistakes cause content to feel low-value, even when it’s informative.

Mistakes That Causes Informative Content to Feel Low Value

Some mistakes that cause content to feel low-value (even if it’s informative) is sharing with a low production quality. Being unorganized with the topic is another possibility, lack of confidence, and even the assumption of believing it’s not as good as others because of low engagement.

Low production quality

Worrying about low production quality is a highly common mistake that plays a role in the perception of your content being seen as low value. This includes things like not having the state of the art equipment, editing software, or anything else considered enhancements to your material.

You start doubting yourself when you notice having a look that’s substandard. Most of the time it deals with a case in where you’re competing with others that have higher budgets. Because perception of quality is relative, that should be taken into consideration.

You should avoid chasing a perfectionism mentality in this regard. It can also be problematic allowing this distraction to get in the way of a genuine message being shared.

Being Unorganized

Being unorganized is another mistake with content perception because it blocks the effectiveness of a presentation. You have to keep in mind that the goal is to inform most of the time if you’re business minded.

That includes having your information in order. The things you say have to make sense and be in places that compliments wherever the starting point was, all the way to the end.

That’s true because there’s still an entertainment aspect that has to be kept in mind. You wanna have the information remain accurate, but also take the next step in having the content pleasing to actually dissect and enjoy.

Lack of confidence

Lacking confidence is another thing that causes informative content to feel low value. How would you feel about someone telling you what you’re supposed to do, but they appear to not even believe the things they’re saying? You likely wouldn’t respect their message much.

Assuming it is because of low engagement

Making the assumption that your content is low value because your engagement isn’t where you want it to be is maybe the biggest mistake we’re addressing yet. There’s a ton of analogies that could support this line of thought like ‘if a tree falls in the woods and you’re not there to hear it, does that mean it didn’t happen?’ That’s an example, but what it should suggest to you is if the quality (in terms of information) is present, the rest will come. People are going to find it and engage with it as algorithms do their part in having it circulate.
