Storytelling helps control a narrative when looking to increase the perceived value of another person. From a more business lens, it also transforms functional products into emotional experiences.
Controlling Narratives Through Storytelling
Controlling narratives through storytelling is creativity at a high level. There’s plenty of stories that shared interesting stories with spins and twists to add a unique flare to a traditional story. I could easily reference a powerful example in The Wizard of Oz! That story alone has been redone so many times. The most relevant is Wicked. Another one that could be looked at to better understand this lesson is Maleficent. It’s another spun story on the already popular Snow White.
Creating Emotional Experiences out of Functional Products
Functional products have a perk to them in having the ability to create emotional experiences out of them.
You could go with a watch for example.
The product itself is simplistic in nature, but the function is intended to tell time.
It becomes an emotional experience for many with how it’s supposed to tie in with important people. There’s also physical media with movies for example and even albums that could be studied to support what we’re learning today.
Again, they’re physical products that deliver emotionally. Ironically enough it’s from the stories they’re expected to tell. They typically have replay value that’s communicated well.
