Shadow The Hedgehog is not evil. He falls under the trope of an antihero.

Shadow The Hedgehog

Shadow is different from Sonic in his use of firearms and explosives.

He’s a lab experiment that was made by Professor Gerald Robotnik as an attempt to cure his dying granddaughter.

Shadow had a disappointment for humans sense then.

He has an array of Chaos powers that rival Sonic’s with Chaos Boost being the most recognizable.

From a design standpoint he remained black as the writers struggled with giving him personality they expressed.

He’s just as fast as Sonic and it’s commonly debated on how fast he is exactly but he’s without a doubt the fastest Sonic faced.

Not to be confused with a robot when acknowledging Shadow is an artificially genetic alien life form.

I was introduced at the video games.

It would’ve been even better to discover through the comics but still credits to the character because I think he’s done well.

How Is Shadow Viewed As A Villain?

Shadow is the most violent and ruthless character in the series.

Those traits alone could be grouped with how a villain acts but that doesn’t mean he is.

Why Shadow Is Not a Villain

Shadow proved he’s not a villain after Sonic Adventure 2 when he helps Sonic perform Chaos Control to save the earth.

What Makes a Character An Anti Hero

A character is considered an anti hero if they have the reputation of not playing by the rules and expectations put on them.

They might not have the role model qualities of a traditional hero but they still contribute to the greater good of things.

Shadow follows the formula of what it takes to being an effective anti-hero.
