I’ll be sharing a few points I came across regarding why the same actor that played iron man is going to be Dr doom as well.
Why Is The Same Actor That Played Iron Man Going To Be Dr Doom?
It’s because he’s a villain that’s also egomaniacal to an extreme. He’s a twisted inversion of everything Iron Man stands for. The strongest and closest explanation for why this is happening from most fans would be that we’re dealing with a variant.
An Extreme Villain
There’s extreme villains that’s been represented in every fictional story you could think of.
In the case of Doctor Doom he’s without a doubt one of the worst we’ll be expecting in the MCU.

He’s got a ridiculous resume when it comes to the trouble he’s caused with the heroes of Marvel.
He’s forced the Fantastic Four to travel back in time.
Made Reed Richards kill The Thing.
We even learn he bullies the villains after stealing Silver Surfer’s powers.
His powers are nothing seen yet in MCU when you consider he can:
- Fight with a nuclear powered titanium suit
- Hypnotize people
- Manipulate time
- Scramble the nuclear system of opponents
And that’s only to name a few.
He’s nothing to play with.
Evil Iron Man
I’m not referencing Superior Iron Man when I refer to his evil counterpart.

In the comic books he’s quite literally the evil iron man.

There’s a few directions I could see it going in where the directors make sense of the same casting decision.
Having the blueprint of an existing story where these two characters share plenty in common makes this move 100% believable.
Variants Explained
The way I understand variants to be is they’re a niched version of a general character.
An example would be how there’s multiple variants of Wolverine in the Deadpool and Wolverine movie.
The movie already reached a billion dollars worldwide so I’m assuming a safe majority of my audience already seen it.
There’s been other instances of where we’ve seen variants in the MCU.
Another strong example is the different versions of Doctor Strange in Multiverse of Madness.
