My site’s been around for close to 4 years now and all of a sudden it’s been losing its organic Google traffic.
I wanna figure out why.
Why is my site suddenly losing all of its organic traffic?
I’m pretty sure my site’s loss in organic traffic is because I’m running short on high-quality backlinks. Or I might have toxic backlinks.
I’ve been dropping in rankings lately.
I’ve made changes that I thought would help but it’s not seeming to work. It could be that I’ve made flurries of posts that don’t exactly align with the content that was doing well a few months back.
It’s either that or Google updates that’s affecting my site’s performance.
What are the 3 main features of a quality backlink?
- The linked text flows naturally in the body of content on the post or article.
- The referred domain is reputable
- The page referred is relevant topically speaking
To further sum up the characteristics we can say that high quality backlinks are:
- Relevance
- Authority
- Diversity
There’s tools from professional sites that can help you with determining if a site you’re linking to meets any of your features.
I’d recommend Ahrefs or even MoZ.
If those don’t work then there’s even SEMrush too.
Because the goal is to link with respected sites in the niche you’re creating content for these sites do just that by communicating Domain Authority numbers and backlink stats to show how many sites refer to the one you consider linking to.

Too many changes
