Horror movies being better than comedy is purely subjective but the opinion’s popular because there’s a deeper meaning with every detail in horror.

In observation they’re both seen as predictable and don’t usually do too well statistically speaking. Even compared to its hybrid comedy-horror genre that developed with experimentation. Most horror films however is either seen as a hit or miss.
