I’ll be explaining why Christian schools do not celebrate Halloween.
Why do christian schools not celebrate halloween?
Christian schools might not celebrate Halloween because it’s a pagan holiday. And because of it being a pagan tradition it actually goes against the beliefs of true Christians.
Although the Bible doesn’t exactly mention Halloween directly there’s still clues that indicate it being something that goes against the teachings of God.
The Bible and Pagan Holidays
I’ll be explaining what the Bible says about Pagan Holidays.
The Bible forbids the practicing of Pagan holidays.
Christians are against what’s called the “Christianizing” of these celebrations.
There’s books that support these claims too.
If you look at:
- Jeremiah
- Isaiah
- Ezekiel
you’ll be able to confirm for yourself too.
But coming from a Christian background and having people I grew up with in the same community that still partook in these holidays showed me a lot.
Specifically that it’s more of what’s in your heart rather than the actual act of following traditions at that time.
Final thoughts
Here’s the reason Christian schools don’t celebrate Halloween again.
It’s a pagan holiday and traditionally Christians don’t partake in those celebrations.
That includes Christmas too.
I personally went to a school that didn’t directly celebrate the holiday BUT they would allow us to dress up if we chose to.
There’s actually a brief story shared on Reddit by a user that went to a Catholic school in the 50s and was able to practice the holiday if they chose to.
The students and nuns both celebrated it to my surprise.
What that tells me is that the strictness of that rule might’ve been more regional and varied by denomination if anything.
But what do y’all think?
Is it on a larger scale than what I’m mentioning?
Or do any of the stories hit home a little more?

I look forward to all responses.
