Why do cats stash things?

Cats tend to stash things for a few different reasons. One of most natural is to simulate the food-related behaviors of their wild cousins.

When there’s also a change in a cat’s environment or routine STASHING is proactive behavior to prevent:

  • illness
  • pain
  • stress
  • anxiety

And then again they could just be doing it to protect their belongings.
