Why collect Trading Cards (A case made by Realtlkadrian)

I’ll be explaining my case for why you should consider collecting trading cards.

They’re part of the entertainment industry and decided I would talk more about them since I have a few I’ve collected.

I’ve been getting them since I was a kid but see that they’re still alive and well as a respected community.

Let’s get to the question though.

Whether it’s to remember that legendary moment that happened in sports or the time your favorite character did something cool.

Trading cards make memory fun again.

Why collect Trading Cards

They transport individuals back to a simpler time and triggers happy memories by creating a sense of comfort.

You can start collecting at the following places:

  • a local card shop
  • Supermarket
  • Rummage sale
  • Related DSPs

To that last point IT APPLIES to acquiring your cards online through respected retailers such as eBay or Amazon.

What do I remember simpler times to be?

  • The best competitors in their industries started to emerge
  • Childhood defining experiences were being solidified through video games and related merchandise

That’s a much happier time than some moments.

I can remember these being the times:

  • some of the biggest championships happened.
  • Cartoons gained massive popularity.
  • Entertainment was being monetized on both ends.

I didn’t always see it that way but in my late 20s I’ve come to appreciate the concept much more.

This point in time was happening from the mid 2000s to early 2010s.

These trading cards would extend out to some our favorite shows:

I’d go to my local card shop and ended up collecting some of my own that I would trade with my friends all through the city.

What comfort do I get from Trading Cards?

  • They document a point in time when a legendary moment was witnessed
  • Value can increase or decrease depending on what I do
  • It’s a healthy hobby

I wanted to have a fun thing that I could do with friends.

I haven’t really thought about the comfort I get from trading cards but when I reflect on it my opinion becomes more clear.

They did more good for my life than bad.

Because I was in my middle school years when I first started there were sports to keep me busy but I decided to pick up extra activities.

The card shop that I found was connected to my local movie theater so it was convenient for me to check out.

Final thoughts

I suggest everybody tries collecting trading cards at least once in their life.

Here’s the points I made again:

  • They transport individuals back to a simpler time
  • They trigger happy memories by creating a sense of comfort

The best time to start something is NOW so the only thing holding you back from owning your first set is YOU.

If you’re a collector already then I suggest you try my free trial with the company Card Hedge.
