What is the difference between OCG and TCG? (Answered)

I’ll be explaining the difference between OCG and TCG.

What is the difference between OCG and TCG?

The frequency of events.

Your region could play a role in what type of cards you’re collecting already. A few of the main points for each style goes:

  • The OCG is mainly played in Asia.
  • The TCG is traded in every other region.
  • It’s best to trade and focus collecting OCG cards regardless of experience.
  • OCG stands for Original Card Game and TCG is Trading Card Game.

Final thoughts

Let’s sum things up again:

OCG stands for the original cards designed while TCG is the traditional cards played in other regions.

There’s been strong arguments made for where both should have the same rules and restrictions when applied:

Personally I’m okay with it because if it were to originate in another region we’d probably want the same.

Being creative for a moment it could be seen as an opportunity to learn the native language.

If you learn Japanese then you’ll be able to play that specific style and get a new set of rules in theory.
