That’s the case for numerous reasons:
- It carries nutrients and oxygen
- Temperature regulation
- It’s an environment for other creatures
- Protects the cells and supports cellular structure
- Helps with releasing toxins
- It cleans
Why are living things mostly made of water?
This goes back to that point on water being a cleaner.
The technical term is that it functions as a solvent.
What that means is that it’ll also be the ingredient in our bodies that could help either nourish or destroy it.
That also explains why it has a high heat tolerance, hence why we can get fevers without dying immediately.
Warning alert, there’s gonna be some science mentioned:
Because water can break down molecules through creating what’s called hydrogen bonds its use is universal.
Let’s talk about cohesion for a moment:
What’s cohesion?
Cohesion when applied to water’s hydrogen bonds allow it to hold its structure in place.

This actually explains why raindrops have the shape they do.
Next we’re gonna address adhesion.
What is adhesion?
That’s what happens after water is combined through what we mentioned earlier, cohesion and it sticks to another substance.
This actually explains one of my favorite shots for the Master’s tournament when they do their promo.
Instead of clipping a clip elsewhere I’ll share this picture of dew on a flower:

That also could be applied to how glue works, tape and the other sticky areas of packaging.
How am I alive if I never drink water?
It’s probably because you only went a couple days without drinking it.
At best you can only survive from 3 to 5 days.
Here’s a story I’d like to share as a case study that came from Quora:

These are the main points that I found most interesting:
- Claiming to not have drank water for 25 years
- Their doctor recommended they drink flavored water that’s sugar-free to supplement their lack of traditional water
If what they said was true then most likely they had a diet with vegetables and fruit to get more water than average.
It’s that and maybe the possibility of taking vitamins.
I just feel bad for people that live this type of life; grateful for their stories but just concerning to read.
And then it’s the doctor that offered them taking flavored water as a substitute.
That’s ridiculous that the doctor’s gonna fold like that and not encourage them to drink regular water as if their life depends on it.
Because it really does…
Our bodies are 75% water and there shouldn’t be a compromise whatsoever for lack of its consumption.
I mean we’re born into the world through the use of water!
There shouldn’t be an excuse at all about going that long without drinking the fuel for our bodies.
I wanna revisit that point on the user possibly earning some hydration from the food they eat.
Your food is something that you could go without for much longer than liquids.
That’s not to say that you should push the limits on holding out with the foods though.
Cuz if we go off what MediceNet says then we’re only able to go around 3 weeks without eating.
And it might be for reasons you wouldn’t expect:
- Severe weight loss happens
- Organs start to shut down
- Trouble concentrating
- Decreased blood pressure
The list goes on…
Why is water very precious for all living beings?
That’s because the earth is mainly made up of water.
This ends up being the reason that it’s depended upon by all things living.
It’s called the source of life for a reason.
If we’re not living in it physically, we’re consuming it, cooking with it, cleaning or working with it.
Life started in the ocean and everything evolved from that beginning, it’s proven scientifically and biblically for any doubters.
It’s yet another point that should prove how significant water is.
The way we consume most of the time involves water and even when we release our nutrients it involves water.
Even if we apply it to plants and other slept-on forms of life then it’s obvious how much of an effect this resource has on everything of importance exactly.
Why is water so vital to the survival of animals?
Water works in a funny way to where the same way it works for us internally is the same for animals externally.
Same way that it functions as a channel of nutrients that we absorb from the food we eat, it’s the same for animals living in it.
The food chain in the ocean works the same in where water allows the food for other animals to travel to others in different regions.
Another way it copies the way we’re designed is the temperature regulation.
Animals can only live in areas where they can physically survive, so if their habitat’s too hot or cold it won’t stay there.
If we think of any animal it’s a safe bet it’ll requires water to some extent to continue living.
Yes that includes animals that’s known to survive longer than most without it:
- Llamas & Turtles
Final thoughts
There’s a reason I’m so particular about the water I consume and why I use high quality water for my favorite drinks.
The quality of our water determines our quality of life.
There’s just too many benefits that water provides the entire human race to ignore and act like it’s not important.
