Why did the Merlion get demolished?

It was to make way for a pedestrian bridge. The Sentosa is a major attraction for all visitors of Singapore and this was a shocking reveal when this plan got revealed. This bridge was created in order to link the North wing to the South. It’s now called the Sentosa Sensoryscape. You could imagine how upset patrons that consistently visited the original attraction were when this decision was made. In the end though the plan went through as intended and cost the citizens $90 million dollars as a result.

Err … I’m sure the Sentosa Merlion has its fans but it was also ugly and not the original Merlion. The light-and-sound show in it was lame too. A cheesy attempt to create myth when there’s actually none.

A light and sound show WHEREVER sounds phenomenal! It doesn’t matter where it’s at for me.
