Why do employers look for problem solving skills?

Being told employers still look for problem solving skills is a myth. We’re told that it’s attractive for the resiliency you’re able to show. That, creativity, logic and imagination also shines through with this skill. But the problem is most jobs only train employees for repetitive and likely mundane tasks.
