I’ll be explaining why Kakashi became Hokage.
The sixth Hokage of the hidden leaf village is the topic of discussion today.
This is a popularly debated question in the anime community that has an exact answer.
Let’s move on.
Why did kakashi become Hokage
Kakashi became Hokage because he was known as the best shinobi in the village. He was next in consideration because at the time it happened Tsunade was badly injured and he was clearly the best choice given his resume.
The best shinobi
According to Looper Kakashi was considered to be the best shinobi from the Konoha village. There’s several reasons why he was the strongest candidate:
- He saved the world
- Raised the next generation
- His respect
- Peaceful nature
- He’s strong
- Has the ability to be ruthless
- Even smarter than Shikamaru (one of the smartest)
During his reign there’s strong arguments that could be made as him being the best Kage ever!
His popularity and like ability was clear throughout the entire Naruto series.
It’s a shame that he started out from a 4th wall perspective being the coolest ninja but was made almost irrelevant by the end of Shippuden.
To support that thought it’s also easy to see how there’s plenty of pros and cons when it comes to Kakashi as a character.
I like the fact that he has friends just as strong, Guy Sensei being his closest and if you followed him you’ll know how strong he is as well.
He was Jonin since a youngster and as the series continues it only furthers the narrative of what made him so qualified for the title.
The confusion with Tsunade
A user on Reddit points out a spoiler in where we learn that Kakashi becomes Hokage while Tsunade is still alive and even gives Sasuke a pardon.
This confused a lot of fans as to why Kakashi took over when Tsunade was still alive but the answer’s simple.
She wanted to give up her position because she knew she was getting old.
That and after the events of the Great Ninja War she was ready to give the responsibility of managing up to someone more (at least equally) qualified, and that ninja was Kakashi.
It was solidified that Kakashi was Hokage in chapter 699 of Naruto.
Conclusion
Let’s sum up the main points again.
Kakashi was made Hokage because he was the best shinobi in the village, that and Tsunade was ready to give it up and thought (as well as the rest of the Konoha citizens) he was the right choice.
