I’ll be explaining why long beach is so dangerous.
Long Beach California is one of the few premier cities that’s host to many attractions of the entire state.
When I first think of Long Beach I think of beach cruiser bikes, beautiful beaches (obviously) and beautiful women.
Maybe that’s a little too low vibration for your liking but at surface that’s what comes to mind.
I made a recent post about the area that you can find right here so I decided to talk more about the area.
But let’s move on.
Why is long beach so dangerous
Long Beach is dangerous through perception because of the prominent injustices that took place there.
The neighborhoods in that area is portrayed at times for having these scenarios become real possibilities.
- robberies
- assaults
- pick pocketing
- kidnapping
- murders
- thefts
Because the city borders the Compton area it by default inherits the same issues that area faces as well.
My experience was pretty good but they’re all very real things that could happen.
For the gang

When we look at the high activity of gang culture in Long Beach it’s commonly associated and tied directly to crime and gun violence residents say.
One of the most common forms of violence that seems to be reported often is drive by shootings.
In an article written by Spectrum 1 news they interviewed a local cook in the area who recalled a time where the same action took place outside of a restaurant that they worked at which scared locals and left some injured.
However, when we look back as far as 1991 these type of issues were still a problem back then.
Unfortunately statistics show that these incidents have been increasing since then and at alarming rates.
Is Long Beach safe?
This question might sound redundant considering what the title of this post is.
But it sparked a question that I found interesting.
Could an area that’s known to be dangerous have safe spots?
Absolutely I say.
It’s the same way that I look at other areas I grew up in.
You have your areas that you usually only go to if you have specific business but that didn’t make the entire city too dangerous to be in.
One of my favorite areas that I like to recommend anybody when they’re in the area is Venice Beach!
Final thoughts
Let’s sum up what we’ve learned through this.
A big reason as to why Long Beach is considered dangerous is because of the gang activity.
The gang activity ranges from the following actions again:
- robberies
- assaults
- pick pocketing
- kidnapping
- murders
- thefts
These are all crimes that happen anywhere but in an area where gangs are present these are the realistic problems that could potentially happen.
It shouldn’t scare you from ever visiting the area but it’s good to at least be aware of what could happen.
What do you think though?
