I’ll be answering the question “what would super speed feel like?”
Obviously nobody has achieved the levels of super speed that I’ll be, but it’s a fun question to research.
This is my theory on the topic.
What would super speed feel like
If we go by the same standards we would hold to a relatable hero I would go with the Flash, but to do it proper Justice, it would take being able to understand the concept of going that fast. One of my favorite examples of speed that he performed is traveling faster than the speed of light. It would most likely alter your relationship with time. Luckily there’s other names that achieved this accomplishment in fantasy, so we’ll look at that as well.
can flash move at the speed of light
This is a hero who’s speed feels the most relatable as far as having a super power.
The flash is a unique example when pondering on what having super speed would feel like.
Because the flash can see time in attoseconds it allows him to travel as fast as the speed of light.
As far as we know, this is his limit.
I came across fans that agree he’s much slower in the TV series than what he really is in the comics.
He still gets an incredible showmanship of his speed (reaching speeds as high as 9 million times the speed of light).
They say that he reaches speeds as high as 13 trillion times speed of light in the comics!
There’s been discussion on what keeps him physically in tact when reading this speed, and one of the most interesting theories was:

What this suggests to me is that Flash converts the energy gathered from friction into a shield that keeps his body together.
This would explain the glow of a red and neon color that happens when he’s running this fast.
2 versions of the flash were known to reach this level of speed.

The biggest issue that they admitted to running into was brushing up against the speed force.
Speed Force Explained
The speed force is the energy that allows Flash to travel (amongst other speedster heroes in DC) at incredible speeds and stay protected.
This is exclusive only to the DC universe and can’t be accessed in the Marvel Universe.
How Does The Flash Perceive Time?

In CW’s Flash, it’s revealed that he’s able to reach speeds as high as 38,836 miles per hour.
Those speeds make everyone else around Barry to be doing things in a slower motion (increasing his reaction time as well).
The Flash has admitted that his experience while moving so fast is a slow experience on his end, but that’s by choice.

He has the ability to manipulate time itself while also moving at incredible speeds.
why do superheroes with super speed see slow

Quicksilver for example, always has his speed in effect and cannot turn it off when he wants.
He’s constantly adjusting his speed around others in order to be understood or even seen.
Sonic has reached faster than the speed of light multiple times and can only do it for a certain amount of time.
Although he never mentions feeling or seeing in slow motion, he does also have the capability to control time (briefly).
Superman Rivals The Speed
Did you know that Superman rivals the speed of the flash?
He’s proven his speed plenty of times in the DC universe.

Do Speedsters Get Tired?
Yeah, the speedsters in the comic verses usually have to eat a large amount of calories in order to sustain their speed.
There’s perks given when the speedsters are connected to a certain source of energy.
There’s heroes that get their energy from the Quantam Realm, Speed Force and other exclusive areas (most are bound to their home planet).
2 of the fastest in their respective universes admit to having a limited amount of endurance when running a certain speeds.
Quicksilver gets tired, Barry Allen does too, even Sonic The Hedgehog.
Final Thoughts
Having super speed would probably only be fun to have if you can occasionally turn it off.
Looking at the experiences that flash, and other heroes had while having that power or almost causing destruction with its use earned my respect.
- Flash has slow experiences when running at certain speeds
- Quicksilver has the same experience constantly, and that feels problematic
All in all, super speed seems fun to have, at least for the moment.
