I’m gonna discuss the life and afterlife of Chucky the Killer Doll.

Yeah.

He didn’t always have the reputation of being a killer doll though.

Before all of that he was Charles Lee Ray – the Lakeshore Strangler.

We get a better idea of his backstory and what earned him the title if you follow along in Chucky Season 1.

The name begins during childhood and follows until adulthood in where Charles has police chasing him until his death.

The thing is he doesn’t actually die and exercises his voodoo secrets to transfer his soul into a popular children’s toy.

What Made Chucky Evil?

Chucky was made evil after he satisfied his curiosity with death by first killing his mother.

From there it led to even more deaths that would happen at his hands.

At minimum he’s a serial killer at this point and after his soul transfer to the Good Guy doll it was solidified.

Chucky is the reoccurring main antagonist in every movie and tv series season. Formerly as a human called Charles Lee Ray perverted voodoo teachings to commit a series of ritual murders.

Being someone that was actually terrified of this movie villain it actually didn’t hit me as much about the voodoo aspects until Bride.

What is Chucky dying from?

Old age.

Same as what most people that are fortunate enough to experience a long life would die from.

We’re dealing with someone that nicer doesn’t want to go through the normal order of life.

Why did Chucky split his soul?

It’s a concept that got introduced in the film Cult of Chucky.

The original Chucky found a voodoo spell on the internet that allowed him to separate his soul into multiple host bodies.

Broken down it’s a believable tactic that only makes him even tougher to beat.

His whole gimmick was only based around playing possum with his victims until he had to kill them.

Now that he’s learned this technique it allowed him to literally beat schizophrenics.

That was the point where I believed he’s too O.P.

Why Does Chucky Kill?

Chucky kills for the pure enjoyment of doing so.

Since youth Charles Lee Ray was a problem in Hackensack.

His first kill being his own mother started a frenzy of deaths that no one saw coming.

Chucky is sadistic with his view on life and the way he earns a victim.

There’s a rant in Seed where he explains to Tiffany how he does his killings for enjoyment.

Why did Chucky become a killer?

It’s because he learned voodoo that he practiced under his mentor John Bishop with the intention of learning to cheat death.

There’s a deeper story that gets told in detail for Chucky Season 1.

That season in fact explores a great amount of Chucky’s past and particularly focuses on his childhood that brought him to being the killer he’s known as.

There’s points in his youth that revealed a few of his moments with where he develops unhealthy relationships with violence including his first kills.

A couple of his most notable was shown to be his own mother, and a janitor that worked at his foster home.

Why does Chucky want people to kill?

It’s a way for people to get initiated into his cult.

On top of him just wanting to see people die he likes to share the feeling he gets when he kills others.

Even though we see him really pressing this matter with Jake in Chucky Season 1 it’s also shown that he likes to share the rush he gets with even his child Glen(da) in Seed of Chucky.

There’s a belief that his ability to get people to kill for him also strengthens his voodoo magic by being able to have more influence over his followers.

Why was Chucky so hard to kill?

Chucky’s so hard to kill because even though he’s a doll he still has a human-like strength that at least puts him on the same playing field as other adults.

There was still plenty of clues that reveal Chucky’s weaknesses when it comes to killing him.

A few are:

• Gunshot wounds
• Fire
• Industrial fans
• Explosions

So as you should be able to tell he’s able to be killed the same as any other human, it’s just hard to do it because since he’s a doll his greatest advantage is the element of surprise .

Final Thoughts

Chucky is an obviously demented individual that has a troubled past that could mess anybody up.

He built up this reputation from a young age and it carried over to his adulthood bringing him to elevated levels getting his soul trapped in a popular children’s toy.

In that same thought there’s also ways to kill him but he continues to come back and finds new ways to grow his following and making him an even more powerful voodoo expert.
