Focusing on growing skills that require particular training creates much more separation from any competition you would come across.

Gaining training in specific skills

That’s always gonna be my choice between the two because you’re bound to be successful as a result.

Choosing the training of a special skill proves you’re ahead of most anyway.

Special training implies intentional thinking.

This is where you should understand that your knowledge is fitting in a much larger ecosystem in a way.

There’s a reason why careers that take the longest amount of time to be good at are also usually the highest paying too.

Doctors

Lawyers

Scientists

Engineers

That’s only to name a few.

They all share something in common.

None of them are professions you can just apply to work for at an entry level position.

General knowledge is just the beginning of living

Having general knowledge is a great thing.

Matter fact more people should seek it. It’s only the beginning of living your life.

We all have a purpose that’s different from the next person’s. It’s up to us to find it.

Restricting yourself to only wanting to learn about something in general is only getting your foot in the door.

You’re a low level member of a community.

This isn’t to say you’re not valuable if that’s all you want.

The point to consider is that you’re limiting your own ambition with that choice.

That’s not something I can comfortably endorse at this point in my life.

Final thoughts

So I’m choosing the coach that provides a specialized skill set over the general trainer.

I’ll become the master of a valuable lesson that raises my stock as a result.

I’ll feel more confident about my place in life. People will earn a much greater benefit from me.

They’re both successful but one has identity that creates distinction.
