I’ll be explaining when a spinoff is needed in a story.
When a spinoff is necessary in a story
A spinoff is necessary when the original story gains strong acclaim and fan interest. If there’s real buzz around the main work, it creates space to explore new angles or characters. The Sonic film franchise is a great example—after the second movie’s success, Knuckles got his own series, and now there’s talk of a spinoff for Shadow after the third. Momentum like that shows when a story’s universe is rich enough to expand.
