I’ll be explaining how to be lighthearted and not take the world too seriously.
How to be lighthearted and not take the world too seriously
Being lighthearted in such a serious world can be tough to do but it’s absolutely possible. I suggest you find humor in what you can and get in touch with more things that make you laugh. Remember this: you’re not as bad as they say you are and you’re not as good either. You have to expand your worldview enough to see all the funny things the world has to offer. Sometimes it might even take having a break from the things that you might feel is stressful.
The Power of Humor in a Serious World
Comedians hold a great power that I feel could be applied to most people’s lives. They can see the bright side to most situations. It’s important because it lightens the mood on what society might see as too taboo. If you can at least understand where there’s humor in dark situations it makes going through it a little more bearable. It’s not something everybody knows how to do either. If it were attempted to be studied a little more then it could prevent a lot of stress for you and anybody else you’re dealing with.
Why Taking Breaks Is Key to Mental Clarity
Breaks are important to remaining lighthearted because it’s your charger essentially. It touches on the topic of mental health but to keep it simple it’s a break that allows you to catch your breath mentally. If you’re keeping things light it’s a good chance the situation is already tense and what you’re doing is keeping the peace. I’m able to speak from experience just because of all the characters I’ve gotten to meet and know up to this point. It’s something I’ve had and what you get too eventually. It can break most if they never have a safe haven from all the madness.
You’re Not As Bad or As Good As They Say: Embracing a Balanced Self-View
That quote was one that I got from a book written by Charlamagne Tha God. It’s from his first of several series and it stuck with me for a while now. I think he mentioned it was something his father told him and for myself at the time it was just what the doctor ordered. I would constantly show up to interactions that I could guarantee each time would lead to stress. Sometimes you would leave the situations questioning yourself and who you are. It turns into a moral reflection that if not settled can ruin you. Just reflect on that quote and leave a comment on what you think it means in comparison to the question posed.
How to Train Your Mind to See the Funny Side of Life
One of my favorite ways to train my mind with seeing the funnier side of life was through media—specifically entertainment. There’s several tv shows and movies I’ve come across that impacted my life for the better. What I believe it does is help draw realistic parallels to put things in perspective. It goes back to the seeing humor point. If you see something that made you feel some type of way earlier in a character and the moment or situation you’re experiencing meets the same criteria it becomes easier. It almost feels as if you got the answer for how to respond. You might watch or read the story and start coming up with responses that effectively handle the situation. Again, nothing in life lasts forever. And most things that’s come up in your life probably happened to somebody else so that makes preparation possible.
Expanding Your Worldview Through Laughter
They say laughter is one of the best medicines anybody can obtain. There’s an optimism that’s sparked from enjoying such a happy moment in life. If you’re looking for the next laugh intentionally it can give you something hopeful to look for. The laughter might not even be for you like it was for me most of the time but you’re aware of the power it brings. Sometimes it diffuses a situation enough to the point where you have a new ally. It’s a reciprocal benefit in reality because laughter is also contagious if done at the right moment. With that comes more experiences and different situations that you get to experience—ultimately expanding your view of the world.
