I’ll be explaining how to be better at telling stories.
How can I be better at telling stories?
- Practicing regularly
- Getting a better understanding of and reading who your audience is
- Structure your stories effectively
- Embrace the intense emotions you receive and get from telling it
Practice regularly
Practicing regularly could easily be defined as executing specific actions to sharpen results for a performance.
When I tell stories to someone or a group of people I’m with I’m looking to connect.
All of the stories are gonna be something relevant to what we’re talking about.
Depending on the subject it might be a message that encourages or discourages them from doing something.
The payoff comes through the laughs or whatever response they reveal while hearing.
Why is it important to know the audience when creating a discourse?
Knowing your audience lets you customize your message.
It communicates the tone that would be deemed appropriate.
Even the actual language your audience speaks plays a role in being understood best.
If these things are taken into consideration it makes for reliable engagement.
The goal is to build rapport.
So this is a critical step.
You don’t want any misunderstandings or to offend anybody.
That means placing skills that harbor effective communication is imperative.
You become confident in their presence.
But maybe most important is that you feel comfortable as well.
Structure your stories effectively
Embrace the intense emotions
