How can I improve my rap skills? (Explained)

I’ll be explaining how I can improve my rap skills.

How can I improve my rap skills?

  • Practice regularly
  • Learn from rappers
  • Focus on your flow and rhythm

Those are the actions you need to be taking if you’re planning on getting better at rapping.

If I put more emphasis on point #2 earlier in my career I probably would have more show experience.

Practicing regularly

Practice makes better.

I’ve said it before and I’m stressing it again.

You need to practice if you want to perform and deliver at a high level.

There’s some naturals that can seem to effortlessly produce quality work but hard work beats talent when it doesn’t work hard.

Learn from other rappers

Learning from other rappers takes real research to do.

It involves analyzing their lyrics.

Dissecting their flows.

Find a rhyme scheme that you can appreciate personally.

And in turn that impacts your delivery.

Finally is to make it your own.

Create distinction by adding in pieces that resonate with you personally.

Focus on flow and rhythm

This comes with extensive practice.

Focusing on your flow and rhythm takes getting your pacing correct.

You’re getting it to match the way you normally talk ideally.

That includes making your content feel organic.

You’re structuring the speech and organizing placements of elements to make it cohesive.

It takes eliminating distractions.

Get rid of things that take focus away from your originality.

Next is prioritizing your happiness in the moment.

That makes the mood comfortable for you and ideally it establishes your brand.
