These experiences help you grow

What experiences in life helped you grow the most?

Starting my own journal.

Joining activities I never saw myself doing.

Developing my own business projects.

Becoming supportive of other competitors in my industry.

Those are a few of the experiences I had in life that helped shape me the most.

These span from my early grade school years all the way up to this very moment.

Starting a journal

Starting a journal can be a life changing experience.

It’s an activity where you get what you put into it.

It starts off with having to choose one first.

I mean that literally.

You can grab a composition notebook.

There’s regular and even pocket sized ones.

After getting that far it’s on you to create a routine that you’re sure to follow.

You can’t count on being consistent and getting the full benefit if you feel forced to do it.

I personally started doing them in school but decided to visit the concept later in my post grad years.

But that routine can be something as simple as writing for a few minutes before bed or on wake up.

It’s just finding something to be consistent in to be successful.

You might be asking yourself how to find something to write about all the time.

And that’s a fair question.

Something that works for most people is finding a program that includes actual prompts.

These prompts inspire you to think and concentrate on a random topic.

Kind of what I’m doing now but you might find something even better to follow.

Another thing you have to do that can’t be taken for granted is having all the tools you need.

I can’t think of how many pens I went through.

So much paper got wasted early on.

Even if you type or record and do it a lot then you might even run out of data.

Just make sure you have something that can document your thoughts on command.

And last thing is to make it fun.

I mentioned how most people don’t start doing it until they get to school and it’s for an assignment.

It’s fine to start there but it honestly felt like work and took away for me.

You’re gonna know you’re having fun once you’re finding new ways to spice things up.

You might grab a new book.

Maybe you might have a page dedicated to posting pictures on it for dream-building.

Find ways to keep fun with the things you’re gonna spend a majority of your time doing.

Joining unexpected activities

I’ve grown in some of the most unexpected ways.

I credit a few of the programs and activities I’ve been a part of that contributed to my growth.

It’s mainly experienced through things you’ve actually never done before.

You might not ever picture yourself doing the activity but it starts somewhere.

I believe the most common way is in conversations you wouldn’t see yourself being part of.

The topics might be something you’re unfamiliar with but want some deeper knowledge about.

You can expect it to start off with a lack of confidence that should be understood.

We tend to not be confident on things we’re not experts on.

Things change if you stick with it long enough though.

Your social circle starts to change in the beginning process and it continues to shift the more ambitious you get.

The growth happens because you’re constantly getting out of your comfort zone.

Your benefits get added through the new skills you add from what you learn.

It could even improve on the existing ones you hold at the moment.

Adds new skills to your arsenal or even improves on your existing ones.
