It’s AJ, and this is my commercialized blog site, where I can share my lifestyle interests and provide thoughtful insights on topics worth discussing.

I’ll be explaining why spending money feels good.

Why spending money feels good

It triggers a release of dopamine. This feeling’s associated with pleasure and reward in the brain. Doing so makes a sense of control possible. It creates social validation. For most it’s an emotional coping mechanism. It’s worth noting that there’s not always positive feelings that come with spending money though. On the come up of acquiring more it’s a safe rule of thumb to be mindful of your spending.

Dopamine Hit

There’s an energy rush most people get from spending money.

I might need more scientific research that supports why.

But it feels good being able to afford something.

Price tag could be a big obstacle that influences someone’s view of it negatively.

When you put yourself in a position where you finally ‘got it’ your gratitude sky rockets.

Sense of control

Being able to spend money makes you feel you’re really in control of your life.

Having it in itself is and should be seen as a reflection of your best qualities that helped obtain it.

When you got it there’s options that come with it.

You have choice.

What do you really like in life?

Where your money goes shows it.

And if you’re like me then you take the opportunity to grow at maximum efficiency.

Social validation

Having money shows that you can work with people.

People are generally more likable when they have money.

They’re able to do more activities and fund the festivities.

Friends are always gonna choose the friend with money over the one that doesn’t.

It earns a reputation that could lead to an expanded ego if not checked.

Just a point to add.

Emotional coping

Money in itself is an addiction.

It’s merely an expression of how you already feel.

There’s an amazing amount of emotion tied in with money.

That’s why people feel either really good or bad after spending it.

Not always positive

I mentioned earlier how there’s an emotional attachment to money that can even swing in a negative direction.

Some people don’t always feel good about spending money because they think they won’t be able to earn it back.

You can’t live life that way because all money you earn loses value.

Maybe not literally but you never feel good about the money you earn because it’ll never be enough.

What’s the point of having money if you can’t ever spend it?

Mindful spending

Being mindful of how you spend your money makes having it much better.
