It’s AJ, and this is my commercialized blog site, where I can share my lifestyle interests and provide thoughtful insights on topics worth discussing.

Reputation is Important

They say a good reputation can:

  • make it easier to find jobs
  • make friends
  • be trusted by others

But what about an effective work ethic?

Or maybe a desire for the healthiest lifestyle possible.

For the sake of validating this statement it’s only fair I share my expanded thoughts on it.

Reputation is important without a doubt.

I see things as having a path that only travels so far.

An example is with a question about winning the lottery I answered earlier.

If I were you win the lottery and I’m in a room with other self-made people there wouldn’t be much to say if we were to share stories.

A reputation is something that’s built brick by brick.

It’s a quality I think is synonymous with consistency.

Specifically on a balance scale because there’s times it’s applied accurately and others when it’s not.

The negative lens first would be if someone were to make an unforgivable mistake and they’re forever condemned.

I’ll let you plug in whatever that crime is.

The brighter side suggests a scenario where somebody participates in a project that takes several days to complete.

Everything goes as planned and it’s awards night.

You’re honored for what it took to complete the project.

One trait was discipline.

You receive your reward and from there on it becomes a conversation starter or contributor.

It cements a reputation for yourself from here on out.

Making it easier to find a job

Your reputation is essentially your resume.

It’s your breadcrumbs for when companies do research on you.

It communicates with if you’re the right candidate at all.

It can contribute towards your ability to network with connections.

Whenever an interview happens it makes the questions asked pretty typical.

The thing that makes you interesting gets more clear as you move forward.

You only build on it as you practice and apply friendly habits.

Things that help people remember you positively.

Making friends

Friendship’s a positive consequence of earning a certain reputation.

It goes back to that point of reputation being a networking aura.

If what you’re known for is something that others see as successful or inspiring then gets other people trying to be your friend.

Being tied with legacy also explains why popularity is the result.

It’s one of the 2 motivators needed to drive most of humanity anyway.

Be trusted by others

It’s no surprise to discover having a reputation consistently demonstrates honesty.

You’re seen as reliable for something.

There’s integrity in your actions and words.

Final thoughts

A reputation is something that’s always earned.

Putting the final touches on this topic actually suggests to me that consistency might not be as defining.

It is a common point of emphasis though.

I also should add that this quality is more associated with positivity than negativity.

It’s something that everybody wanting to be somebody should strive to earn.
