the best things about my hometown
- We would have plenty of creative people with large imaginations to fill the city
- We had sports to bring a lot of us together and one thing that I’d vaguely remember is breakfast first and then a ‘scrap’
- It had a spiritual background in where all streets have names that link to biblical stories
- Being witty was almost mandatory when dealing with authority of any kind
- There was a unity that would bring us together and make each clique stronger than average ones
- Humor was another thing we valued and cherished
- The most popular form of it came through roasting each other
Being Around Other Creative People
Being with other natural creatives made each day better than the last and if you were connected with the right people it compounded.
Call it the mastermind principle if need be but the main benefit made everything we did feel effortless.
I personally believe it contributed to my high standards with the activities I decided to be part of.
One of the universal goals that kept most people connected was through materialistic items.
My main vice was through games or sports.
It didn’t do much good for my saving habits but it made things fun in the time being.
The glue that appeared to keep everything together was through music.
I learned that pretty quickly early on.
Final thoughts
This was actually inspired from the original WordPress prompt for the day.
Chicago is the general area but I’m from the suburbs and likewise has plenty of experiences with the area.
