I’ll be explaining what I like about the live-action Disney movies with an explanation on a bonus genre as well.
What I Like About Live-Action Disney Movies
- Makes the stories seem even more realistic
- It catches up the younger generations to that blissful feeling the cartoons alone did for the elders
- More demands can be met as a result – specifically in potentially untapped markets
- The truths of the world can be shared in a digestible way for a larger audience
Making Stories Feel More Realistic

There’s something special about making the unrealistic feel more believable.
One of the most slept on adaptations that happen among the live-action is updating dialogue to match the times.
Dialogue should reflect your character’s background and be true to the period the story exists within.
An example is with the Lion King in where the 90s version has a basic script but goes on to get the bar raised in its live-action.
Society’s lingo updates and that in turn affects the way we communicate.
Adapting it to live-action makes it feel refreshing enough to seem different but feel familiar at the same time.
Final thoughts
Seeing anime being included into the live-action world is a cool concept in theory.
There’s been a few stories where it didn’t work out too well but I’ve also experienced some good ones too.
It’s all about making the skewed more believable and in effect it impacts lives on a long term scale for positive reasons.
