I’ll be explaining why Double D from Ed Edd n Eddy wears a hat.

Why does Double D wear a hat?

Danny Antonucci chose to give Edd a permanent hat based on when he burned hair on top of his head and would hide it. There’s a couple episodes that give inclinations on what’s under his hat from just watching the show. With the only other exception being the TV movie.

He’s one of the important additions to the cul-de-sac gang.

He balances out the intelligence of the Eds and makes the incredible inventions that gets the Eds scams going.

Edd was the last one to move in the neighborhood when shown on one of the episodes.

He makes jokes that can go over anyone’s heads that’s watching the show and he’s arguably the most relatable of everybody.

Double D wants to have a good time with his friends and get jawbreakers in the process.

Final thoughts

His hat was always just a mystery that was an appropriate touch to the show’s charm.

At a certain point you give up trying to guess what’s under his hat and everyone else does too.

It’s good that we get confirmation from the writer on these topics but that’s all there is to this.
