Why do you want to be a project manager?

I’ll be discussing why you would wanna be a project manager.

Why do you want to be a project manager?

You want to be one for the same reason anyone else that prefers security would have things too. There’s plenty that get a fulfillment from solving complex problems. Whatever it may be is a noble effort.

Why Do I Want To Be A Project Manager?

I want to be project manager because of my desire for planning out the details of my life.

Project management to me is just the balancing of important life skills you need anyway in order to function daily.

There’s time management and budgeting just to name a couple of responsibilities but the list goes on.

I like the creativity in being able to design the scale of entertainment and presentation of information as it’s deserved.

There’s a lot of sentimental value that goes into working on a project from scratch and seeing it play out to the final moments.

The security of having a job

There’s a security in knowing your current position with your employer is secure and you’re safe from layoffs or sudden firing.

There’s a job security that’s tied in as an illusion if anything because as increase in technologies increase things change.

The article by Ray Higdon on The Truth About Job Security sums up a majority of my thoughts.

Having a job is one thing but it pays off to have undeniable traits that make you relevant in a volatile market.

There might be fear of the unknown that most might deal with moving forward.

One of the most common will be the development of AI technology.

It could be argued that your digital footprint becomes your new resume.

It showed if you’re able to meet demands.

Work that takes an interest in solving problems

Deciding to be a project manager is also agreeing to solving problems in general.

There’s never a guaranteed expectation when you agree to more ambitious projects.

Being a problem solver isn’t a trait that’s necessarily taught.

It’s an everlasting quality that makes whoever has it in discussion for any project that’s brought forward.

Add in the introduction of Chat GPT and it makes being resourceful even easier.

Depending on your personality type you might even have a behavior that compliments this career best.

9 Reasons You Should Become a Project Manager

  • Challenge and creativity

  • Give your OCD an outlet
  • Learn agility
  • Always learning
  • High salary
  • Constant demand
  • Impact
  • Remote Work

Final thoughts

It can be a thankless job in many aspects and that can be upsetting to deal with.

There’s a confidence in holding a job title with benefits and it gets unsure with knowing it stays as technology improves.
