Free For Profit Beats (The Ultimate Guide)

I’ll be having this post function as a guide to provide a better understanding with what free for profit beats are.

If you’re someone that’s considered earning money from your music then this might be for you.

You’ll come across this if you can through video search engines in where producers share the beats they make.

Some might have the label on the title and some might not know what that means. Same as myself earlier in my career.

One of my favorite songs that I’ve made was on a free for profit beat. It’s called Troubleshoot. You can find it on YouTube exclusively as both a long form and YouTube Short. Part of my favoritism to this song in particular is the fact that I could earn money off it depending on if it hits the right numbers. That’s the only thing holding me back from earning money from streams.

My Song Called Troubleshoot

The full version of my song can be found by clicking the link here.

It’s a beat I can appreciate because it has strong presence from its use of piano.

I’m used to a sound that’s got heavy drum usage but this fit my style at the time and it was motivating to find a profitable beat.

long-form YouTube clips

I’ve put plenty of content on YouTube in the past and some to date.

The plan’s to get more consistent and raise my quality.

Personally I think it’s my best work but as far as doing it with music I’m adjusting to killing analysis paralysis.

YouTube short clips

Shorts been around for a while but it still feels pretty new to me.

These forms of content gives me a bit of anxiety because it’s such a small amount of time to fit ideally tons of value.

Obviously it’s possible to do when you look at the success others got from other social media platforms.

But I’m not a big fan of small talk.

My music’s a different story though.

It’s more ideal considering my approach to sharing my sound is good for them.

Monetizing Independent Music

I’m at a point in time where I wanna make money.

I’ve decided that I want it made through the things I create and didn’t think about earning with music until after going to college.

I would rap off type beats I find off YouTube popularly and even leased a couple when I was being stupid with my money.

Final thoughts

Let’s sum up the final answer to the question again:

A beat that’s free for profit is one that could be used for monetization without needing to pay in leasing it.

The main work you have to put in is marketing it well for streams.

How much you get paid is depending on what platform you’re choosing to dedicate your efforts to.
