I’ll be explaining why Americans wear black wedding rings.

Why do Americans wear black wedding rings?
It’s because the color black signifies many noble characteristics:
- power
- courage
- strength
- conviction or belief.
What having power means
Having power according to Merriam-Webster means implied possession of the ability to wield force with a commanding influence.
But when we look at what power really is it’s commonly confused with being an entity that comes from the outside-in.
Why courage is related to the color black
Dr. Carey Yazeed says verbatim that being black is courageous in itself.
We’re not talking about lighter color such as orange or whatever.
This is a hue that represents bravery.
Notice I didn’t word it “color” because there’s more specific colors for certain instances.
But when it comes to shade it can make a world of a difference when it comes to perception.
In this case the darkness can signal bravery and it takes courage to be brave so you can imagine what black looks like.
Why black means strength
EraGem suggests that wearing black can create a sense of self-confidence and importance.
There’s a reason why this color makes a powerful fashion statement when worn at events.
There’s a seriousness that comes with it.
I’m finding it’s synonymous with very extreme circumstances.
An example would be how black not only represents strength but also fear or death.
That could be an explanation for why that color is traditionally worn at funerals.
Why does black relate to courage and strength
Being a black man comes with having to constantly validate your sense of worth from how it seems.
Some say it represents speed.
Slavery was an adversity that without a doubt needed courage and strength in order to overcome.
