Wisdom x Age = Better

What do you think gets better with age?

Wisdom is something that I think gets better with age.

Of course that suggests I’m referring to seniors because:

  • They tend to make better decisions
  • They’re more emotionally stable
  • Less impulsive than their younger peers

But I don’t think it’s face value in meaning senior citizens.

I believe wisdom can start being acquired as soon as age 7.

And that’s not a quality everybody has.

But in that same thought 65 and older doesn’t necessarily mean you have wisdom either.

Wisdom can come with age

There’s an expectation that wisdom comes with age when it’s based on life experiences and it’s a highly popular opinion to say.

An appropriate quote from Oscar Wilde goes “With age comes wisdom, but sometimes age comes alone.” and it only confirms my claim.

The chances are high that you’ll gain wisdom with age but it’s not a guarantee.

There’s indicators that prove you have wisdom and a personal favorite’s when you’re able to admit fault when it applies.

What comes with seniority in life

Becoming a senior in life has expectations of being a staple in your community generally speaking.

They’re expected to have immense knowledge on what to do and even quickness when it comes to completing tasks.

If we apply it to the workforce it’s actually a hot topic in figuring out the benefits they receive.

That can go in many different tangents but I’ll try to keep focus.

I have this to add on the thought and I’ll leave it alone with advocating for baby boomers to be retired by now in 2024.

Can wisdom come before being older?

I actually equate being older at 35 but sticking with 65 the stance is the same in saying there’s no evidence old age equals wisdom.

Wisdom is knowledge through experience and not age to support my theory of it coming as early as 7.

It doesn’t always come with age and that could be confirmed by any successful person you could think of still active in life work.

Why wisdom is not a given

Although I like to believe that most E-type personalities on the MBTI scales are intuitively filled with wisdom no one’s born wise.

Again it comes with experience and paths are scattered in life.

So that means the same experiences can happen at different times or not at all.

If you’re religious then even in Christianity it’s suggested if you read Jeremiah or Proverbs.
