I’ll be explaining why people only work hard without being smart.
It can be a conundrum that you’re watching someone else going through.
Or maybe it’s something you’re dealing with yourself.
To start off with good news it’s better to be aware you’re in that situation rather than lying to yourself and never knowing.
But anyways let’s move on with the question.
Why do people only work hard without being smart?
First of all is that there’s an easy to fall in trap called work addiction.
It’s a complex topic that deserves a separate discussion alone.
But overall it’s harmful because most of the time it promotes a quantity over quality mindset.
With that comes a crutch that’s formed mentally if you ask me.
It leads to a limited mindset in critical thinking which also means a lack of innovation and creativity.
An industry that’s worth studying in relation to this topic is engineering.
Why is hard work not smart work?
Hard work isn’t smart work because it’s usually the default to working in general.
It’s getting things done without much thinking about how to do it.
Generally one type of work is easier to do than the other.
No one side’s better than the other when it comes to getting things done.
Hard work usually comes with a certain level of commitment and anxiety.
I personally relate and agree to the way hard work is classified.
When I would certain jobs it would lead to an overload in where I would panic because the objectives in front of me would make me feel overwhelmed.
I’ll take work where I have to think over just working hard because it takes a combination of skills.
I think it’s the reason I would be put on medication for anxiety that I’m looking to get off of as soon as possible.
It’s actually why I choose to do work for myself every time.
There’s a personal satisfaction that comes with getting a job completed that retired me to challenge myself mentally.
Why do smart people struggle at work?
Smart people struggle at work most of the time because they go through a brain overload.
I can personally relate to the feeling that’s common.
And that’s smart people feeling like they’re not reaching their full potential during the job.
There’s an internal battle that goes on with being aware and submitting to the fact that there’s better things they could be doing.
The person that feels they’re smart feels like they’re stuck with their time and are forced to work through the menial labor they’re doing.
And don’t get me started with how tough it can be with having to collaborate with other smart people on the job.
It could be a huge struggle because it’s fighting with other people about doing work in a way that they believe is best.
It’s futile when you discover the fact that it doesn’t matter who’s smarter if you’re doing something else’s work anyways.
It spills over to where ‘smart people’ don’t even get hired as often because it boils down to where they just don’t make good employees.
