I’ll be explaining why a referral is better than a job lead.
You read that right!
I’m suggesting that there’s a difference between the two and we’re gonna break it down a little bit better.
Here we go.
Why is a referral better than a job lead?
Referrals are better than job leads for a few reasons. For starters leads are typically pursued by the company while referrals come to you. They usually are dependent on the recommendation of another person’s suggestion. Referrals tend to know more about the company they’re looking to work with and generally improve employee retention rates significantly.

Referrals come to the business that they eventually work for.
Leads are pursued
When discussing leads and their relation to businesses they usually are found by the business themselves.
Referrals greatly improve employee retention rate
One of the benefits that businesses like most about referrals is that they improve employee retention rates.
Referrals tend to know more about the company
Another benefit of referrals generally is that they usually know more about the company looking to expand.
Referrals are more personal as a recommendation
One aspect about referrals that make them so powerful is the fact that it’s made by a person’s suggestion.
