Are swords useful in modern combat?

Not anymore. They’re actually considered obsolete because of their unwieldiness. If they were to come back the closest thing we would get is something similar to a cutlass. There are combat knives and bayonets that’s still used in modern combat though.

If we even look at the fighting styles that incorporate swords we’ll find there’s multiple based around it.
