I’ll be explaining why INFPs are hated in the MBTI community.
The INFP personality type is one that’s worth studying to some degree.
Let’s get into the question though.
Why INFPs are hated in the MBTI community
They have traits that’s just not completely desired. Some of your closest INFPs perform as angels in disguise by being able to spot negative energy and keeping peace. It’s an intimidating presence but it can’t be greeted with retaliation and instead cooperation.
Why are INFPs hated?
INFPs are hated because of these reasons in my experience:
- They can do things that’s rare
- They’re super resourceful
- They come across as condescending
- They love living in the past
- They got hobbies that’s not the most popular
- They seem to get lucky often
- They’re low in the empathy realm
Having rare abilities
You can’t be a hater because someone can do something that’s not common.
Most INFPs have this going for them.
Whether it’s having a knack for debating or whatever, they’re gifted.
The gift of resourcefulness
Being resourceful is a super highly valuable trait that most recruiters would like to have.
It baffles me how many hate on this quality when it’s really a standard across the board.
Appearing as condescending
I can relate to this behavior frustrating most, mainly cuz I’ll catch myself sounding this way.
I’ve had my own moments of calling out others that sound this way, but I’m almost immature.
That’s just at this point, but someone’s always gonna sound this way, especially in this independent era.
Constantly living in the past
Living in the past is a rightful thing to get annoyed about.
It depends where you’re at in life though. It’s the cool thing to sound like you’re tired of.
You wanna sound like you’re so forward motion in thinking that you never do it, but be real.
If there were good moments in the past, it’s only reasonable to revisit them.
Having unpopular hobbies
There shouldn’t be any shame in liking something that the majority isn’t riding with you on.
That’s what INFPs go through in having takes and interests that may not be the most popular.
But should we ridicule them got that? Maybe. But then again I like to joke, so take that lightly.
Constantly getting lucky
There’s a reason you might need to reconsider that hate you show INFPs. They’re great with bets.
There’s nothing definitive that I can present but these introverts are highly lucky.
They seem to get breaks that stump the best on how they get them.
Unreliable for empathy
INFPs are more overt in appearance when it comes to not caring. I’m calling their bluff tho.
I’m probably not gonna even convince many that they’re any different, but I get it.
You might be a little more emotional than what they’re willing to give.
Don’t take it personal.

Outside and Subconscious Characteristics
INFPs from the outside seem very empathetic to everybody’s emotions.
It seems like they’re creative about finding solutions to problems.
You might even find them to be thoughtful.
They’re compassionate in giving the people around them all they got when it comes to effort.
They have great insight when it comes to getting a second thought or opinion on whatever topic of discussion.
Their internal awareness is worth mentioning too. It’s almost as if they know how to make adjustments mid conversation and be incredibly flexible when interacting.
They’re also highly analytical in being able to break a situation down for what it really is.
You would think they’ll make assumptions and be critical but they’re known for being non-judgmental.
They’re laid-back.
You can count on them being described as extremely loyal too.
You might think because they constantly analyze things that they have frequent changes in philosophy too.
And that’s because they seem to question everything.
They’re not the type to want confrontation and may forgive but not forgetting.
They’re happiest when creating.

Forget about small talk when dealing with them because they’re gonna want details and full explanations when conversing.
They’re quick to help people and actually like it.
You might even see them as being devoted to whatever cause they’re involved in.

Their ability to adapt can’t be overlooked and seems spiritual with how effortless it comes across.
Maybe their charm comes from being so caring and interested in others.
They may even come across as depressed if you’re not in tune with their personality.
They’re flexible and free-spirited.
For the most part these qualities make them great partners in romance.
My Favorite Fictional INFPs
Arthur Fleck
Arthur Fleck or otherwise known as Joker is an INFP because he focuses more on how people treat him and others around them.
Before his villain era he genuinely cared more about others being kind.
His character is an example of an INFP pushed off the edge after his disappointment came to a boil.
He snaps and turns into Gotham City’s number one menace after seeing a famous talk-show host end up ridiculing him on live TV.
Spider-Man
Spider-Man is a top tier INFP personality.
He’s misunderstood in being known as a nice guy but just not dependable.
It specifically applies to the original early 2000s Spidey and his life told through those movies prove it true.
He’s shown as being a study-obsessed kid that neglects his loved ones.
It’s actually the cause of his fall out with MJ by Spider-Man 3.
