Why was spray paint invented? (explained)

I’ll be explaining why spray paint was invented.

I have people I grew up with since junior high that took up this hobby and got a feeling they’ll appreciate this specially.

I’m also someone that can appreciate a good origin story so this will be as much fun for me to dive into as it will for you!

But without dragging this along any further let’s move onto the question.

Why was spray paint invented?

Spray paint was invented to coat radiators. Most commonly done using an aerosol substance it was eventually spread out past its intended use to other crafts that entail artistry. When it reached that point it was popularly associated with crime activity but more importantly a sign of being a rebel.

Why do radiators get spray paint?

It adds durability to keep it plain and simple.

Often at times it’s painted black because it holds heat well, but it’s also spray painted to prevent the structure from rusting quicker than usual.
