Although it’s not an official rule for the platform there’s still intrinsic value in saying thanks:
- It makes the viewers feel seen and appreciated with other users online
- It’s an investment of appreciation that might incentivize viewers to send super chat or even super thanks earnings
Why do people want to feel seen online?
Along with the feeling of appreciation there’s the basic desire to network.
It’s a majority of what makes up the psychology of social media.
What are Super Thanks on YouTube?
It’s the thing I mentioned in my rap but for preserving the consistency of this post I’ll write about it without a beat.
Super Thanks in a nutshell are:
- Opportunities for creators to earn revenue through viewers interested in the content they make, whether it’s short form or long
It’s a special way for subscribers and even the casual viewer to show appreciation for the content a YouTuber makes.
Final thoughts
The main message that could be taken away from these Super Thanks are that it pays to say ‘thank you’.
There’s obviously a monetary benefit that you could earn from doing it but it also doesn’t hurt to show a little appreciation.
