What is one notable fact about how hip hop music was created?
It was created in the Bronx at a birthday party. Adding on to this fact is that the original DJ who started this pathway for an entire genre of music is DJ Kool Herc. The timeline that everything started to happen was the late 70s/early 80s and quickly caught on nationwide after it got discovered. One point that has to be addressed about hip hop is that it’s synonymous with rap. Here’s the kicker though, it doesn’t work the other way around. So rap is hip hop but not all hip hop’s rap to make things clear.
What is the history of rap and hip hop?
It originated in the 1970s and was started by natives of the Caribbeans. Them and African Americans. It’s one of the most popular genres of music in today’s modern sound. It wasn’t like that always though. When it first began it was one of the most minimalistic forms of expression when it came to making music.
