Why might it be important to consider cultural influences on personality? (Explained)

I’ll be explaining it might be worth your time to consider cultural influences on personality.

I could’ve put in the title but this is clearly from a business perspective. It’s not exactly important and needs focus unless you’re unhappy with your social setting. But when breaking this information down with doing business related work it answers questions you want answered as a Network Marketing professional. We’re gonna explore this in further detail.

Why might it be important to consider cultural influences on personality?

Culture as a whole noticeably shapes social patterns and leads to unique variations in personality development.

Why is the culture important in our society?

There’s actually a couple reasons for this when applied to our society:

  • It enhances our quality of life
  • Increases our overall well-being for both individuals and communities

That (on paper) is the exact answer according to ontario.ca, but when I go off hand with what I feel I would add one more point:

It adds motivation and clarity as well to all involved.

Of course there’s more that goes into a culture when you break down the minute details but these are great starts.

Want help designing a cover for the culture YOU create in YOUR tribe?

For many the right culture provides security which is a desired quality for most.

That’s why most decides to work traditional jobs, they’ll make them more secure when it comes to finances initially.

What that does is create a nurturing effect.

You get a chance to feel welcomed and accepted into a completely different world.

They appear to have your best interest in mind and because they’re spending their best assets with you (time and money) you’ll feel like you belong.

Eventually as the team grows it gets to the point where their power creates a momentum that contributes with much extra effort.

FAQs

How does culture affect our beliefs and values?

It influences how we interpret events, that, and the decisions we make.

I’ve made this parallel before in where I mentioned we (as a society) will collectively gather facts and almost play the game ‘telephone’ with them.

Well experience the same thing but remember them differently and move forward with that fact in different ways as well depending on how it affects us.

For example, I’ve had numerous disappointments in my life that I shared with people and it taught me a lot about myself.

Specifically that my response to adversity is different from the average.

It just teaches me that I have a higher sense of toleration than my environment.

I could probably attribute that to my discipline I’ve acquired through my different experiences that requires me to do so.

I’m a huge advocate for joining activities that help you have to use critical thinking skills (especially in team settings) in order to succeed.

Maybe it’s turning more into a praise for the critical thinkers out there because it’s a highly underrated skill that I feel needs more credit with the people who use them effectively.

I was fortunate enough to take this class early in high school my junior year while also earning college credits as a result (looked good on paper).

Who would’ve thought it paid off (rhetorically asked) in benefits over a decade later?

Why is culture important to identity?

That’s cuz it influences how we interpret and react to situations, and possibly my favorite point is the fact it gives people a feeling of belonging.

In a world where we want to be included in whatever’s going on it only makes sense why there’s so many followers worldwide.

You can even look at most social media platforms where the main point of getting on (from a surface level perspective) is gaining followers or being one.

How culture impact our society

Culture impacts our society because it defines our norms.

This played a huge role in my development up to my early adulthood, and I’m watching it affect others from the outside looking in.

Specifically dealing with parenthood I’m almost at the point where I might have what you’ll call ‘child fever’ and I’ll share details on that.

Because I’m watching parents attempt to lead a family of their own and I’ll have interactions with their entire cohort it’s essentially a clash of entities.

It makes myself ready to do the same for myself at some point.

Allow me to get on soapbox and tell every parent reading this that you have a very valuable potential in being able to dictate the environment your family creates.

There’s an example that I’d like to share:

These are called Chao and come from one of my favorite games ever, Sonic Adventure 2 battle.

They work in an interesting way, you learn to nurture them into being good or bad depending on the way you treat them.

You can feed them, teach em to swim, run, fight and many other things.

If you take care of them then they’ll grow up to look angelic.

A hero’s pride essentially.

But…

If you don’t feed them, literally throw them around and neglect them they could be useless (then eventually die).

Not to make it too dark but it almost teaches childcare in a way and helped me draw a parallel to this concept.

Feel free to share if you agree.

How does culture influence your goals?

I’ll start first!

When it comes to my goals it shows me how important 2 things are in my life, immediate gratification and lasting effects.

Let’s apply this to food.

There’s been times where I’ve went hungry and there was a mix between why that is but a majority of the reason was a mindset of lack.

It can be a habit for some individuals, and even scarier with entire households.

Because of that it’s safe to say I’ve flipped a switch since deciding to go all-in with content creation and value having those things in my life moving forward.

Final thoughts

This was inspired by my earlier post on discussing business mastermind topics.

Your culture’s important for retaining anyone that decides to join you.

Again, it brings these benefits to all that plays a part in its development:

  • It enhances our quality of life
  • Increases our overall well-being for both individuals and communities

That’s why I reflect as I’m summing this up and feel grateful for creating one that motivated hundreds to join.

There’s more to it but it’s a point that’ll need to be addressed as you progress in business.
