Everyone’s favorite water park in the Midwest and possibly all of America.
Why does Wisconsin Dells have so many water parks?
Wisconsin Dells has so many water parks because a few reasons actually. It’s known as the ‘Waterpark Capital of The World’ and has every right to make that claim at this point. Coming from only being known as Kilbourn City it has a seasoned history tied in with the Ho-Chunk nation. And because of all of this it’s lead to a huge increase in tourism.

Let’s talk about the waterpark capital of the US located right in Wisconsin known as the Wisconsin Dells.
They got indoor and outdoor waterparks in variety:
- Chula Vista
- Great Wolf Lodge
- Kalahari
- Mount Olympus
- Noah’s Ark
The list goes on but those are the names that first come to mind when discussing their main attractions.
After a name change from Kilbourne City is what brought the waterpark to the name we have today, Wisconsin Dells.
