It’s AJ, and this is my commercialized blog site, where I can share my lifestyle interests and provide thoughtful insights on topics worth discussing.

Why pay for the cow when the milk is free? (Explained)

I want to break down the saying “why pay for the cow when the milk is free”.

Why pay for the cow when the milk is free?

The concept behind this saying is where someone benefits off the activity or a particular thing without making the commitment of labor or pay for the reward. If applied to a relationship then it’s getting marriage benefits without the buildup, or at least earning them. It’s given away too fast.

What I think of the saying

It’s really frustrating to think of.

I dealt with this feeling for a while, ever since I decided to go all in on content creation.

There would be people I tried to get on board with doubling down on what the benefits would be if our efforts are combined.

Surprisingly enough these were people that spend a lot of time on social media but refused in a very passive aggressive way to help me grow this blog together.

Again, I wanna stress the importance of it being their right to decline but I’ll still get requests to help them with their projects and share more of my time with them.

That’s where it can be a problem.

It’s putting their wants and needs over my own.

I’m making this personal because as I’m making this I’m still the only one growing the site for business reasons and I’ll continue to get reminded about their financial problems, or even personal happiness issues.

And at this point it’s watching people be “patient” waiting to see what the results will be from my efforts.

It can get frightening at times because I’ll get pressed about me reaching their standard of success (and I see it coming) but I’m positive I’ll have to reach my goals alone, eventually reach the benefits I plan for and have to give them disappointing news.

But that’s part of the “game” I’m learning.

It might not help that I’m also rapping with the extra attention but I refuse to limit myself.

Nonetheless I’m still grateful.
