What Dragon Ball Z Movies are Canon? (Answered)

I’ll be answering what Dragon Ball Z Movies are canon.

Let’s get into it.

What Dragon Ball Z Movies are Canon?

Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.

Those are the only 2 canon Z movies despite having 13 other films.

Resurrection F

Photo credits go to Travis Hopson.

Obviously Resurrection F showcases the threat of Frieza.

An iconic villain in the DBZ verse.

It’s the nineteenth film in the entire series but also a first when it comes to canon movies.

Battle of Gods

Battle of Gods is a film that serves as the sequel to Resurrection F.

It includes exactly what you would expect in having literal gods added to the universe of Dragon Ball.

We get a better understanding of how powerful they are in the story with Beerus being a first test for Goku.

Canon DBZ

Canon DBZ is different from non-canon on a storytelling standpoint.

There’s been some good movies that came from the stories which never mattered.

My personal favorites were the Broly movies and I must have good taste because it eventually got made canon for Super.
