It’s AJ, and this is my commercialized blog site, where I can share my lifestyle interests and provide thoughtful insights on topics worth discussing.

I’ll be explaining what’s the most important part of wrestling.

What is the most important part of wrestling?

There’s not really a most important part of wrestling when it comes to the sport considering there’s so many factors that affect success.

I do however have a few key pieces that can make a difference:

  • Heart or the “will to fight”
  • Strength and stability
  • Good defense
  • Earning the first takedown

Wrestling FAQs

What muscles are good for wrestling?

  • Biceps
  • Shoulders
  • Forearm
  • Quadriceps
  • Back
  • Core Muscles
  • Lats
  • Trapezius

Arguably it could be said legs but it’s really dependent on your style of attack.

If you’re someone who prefers moves such a slide-bys, headlocks, lat drops and even a good hand fight it’ll more often depend on your upper body strength.

Leg attacks and related things will more likely be depending on a solid leg program.

There’s a good bunch from the community that’ll commonly say your back muscles.

Some of that might be truthful since your posture can predict your chances of success for finish on your shot.

I’m not a professional in specific muscle groups but I’ve done plenty of workouts and a user on Quora had something interesting to say:

To summarize their thoughts it’s a shared belief with me about all muscles needing to be important.

I like the breakdown of the main muscle categories.

Honestly if you group them all together, do high reps, less weight and sets then you’ll hit everything.
