I’m working on a team of foxes.
I made a fox based off a Jetpack question I answered.

At some point I’d like to see it be an emblem for wrestling.
My competition days are in question but there’s plenty I could still offer the sport.
There’s Folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco.
I’m most experienced with the first.
I competed all the way through college at the Division 3 level.
I decided to start wrestling off in the most basic way as possible so that even beginners could learn.
For starters there’s a few terms that you’ll want to learn quickly if you care about progressing in the sport.
What Words Should I Learn Before Wrestling?
The NBC Olympics has a list of terms that includes words used in multiple countries.
Because I see this as truly starting from the bottom I prefer to teach my knowledge through how I see fit.
My casual guide
I’ll start it off with a bit of my philosophy when it comes to simplify learning a sport.
Find the top 2 or 3 actions done to cause scoring and learn the ins and outs.
For wrestling however from experience I can confidently share that my team emphasized the basics.
That included a double leg, single leg and headlock.

And that only covered neutral action.
In Folkstyle there’s a top and bottom position depending on the choice of the wrestler given the circumstance.
In top I would recommend a tilt, arm bar and a solid mat return.
Freestyle wrestling
Greco
Final thoughts
The fox is a mascot for my potential future team.
It’s under construction the same way this post will be as I add new wrestling information.
Because I would have it started in the states I would put my emphasis on my folkstyle guide during the months of November to March.
Any time after that could be switched over to freestyle and Greco.
The fox was chosen because of what it stands for.
As I continue learning more about that animal it’ll reveal more truths to a wrestling style I’m developing.
Thanks for reading.
