I’ll be explaining what makes ‘Scream’ iconic.
It’s the 1996 debut horror franchise launch that changed the genre when it hit the scene.
Based off a fictional movie called Stab, Scream shows how serial killers think in a satirical way.
Surely that wouldn’t work.
A horror movie that takes itself seriously through making a joke of all the others right?
Wrong!
Let’s see why that is.
What makes the Scream movies so good?
Girls love the story, understandably so. The original movie can be the main reason why the entire Scream franchise is so successful. It’s a consistent staple of a horror-slasher done right in cinema.
The Girls Like It.
My strongest case for why girls like the Scream movies is because of the strong female leads they continue to cast.

It’s a good thing for equality and legacy of film in general.
You look at the names the directors chose and can see why the story has so much influence.
Why is 96 Scream one of the best movies?
1996 Scream is one of the best movies ever because it has a strong cast.
It has a unique take on meta humor in a horror movie that never takes itself too serious.
And overall it’s just a good mystery slasher.
What makes Scream a good slasher movie?
It plays on the tropes of a typical slasher but still does its own thing.
Scream points out what the audience will expect blatantly and acknowledge its predictability.
Yet, somehow they still find a way to add a believable twist.
It’s consistent.
Final thoughts.
Scream is a good time for everyone that likes horror.
It helps that both Men and Women like it.
The original movie is still considered the best by many though critic’s standards.
They consistently deliver producing a new movie that seems to do better than the last.
There’s some exceptions of course but when you’re running on somewhere around 10 movies you’re doing something right.
I’m a casual fan of a good slasher and this movie always comes to mind when the conversation comes up.
