It’s done this way to promote exclusiveness with customers. The image represents safety and security.

Personally I think it’s creative in terms of having an icon that projects safety. There’s irony in weaving together Roman history with the literal word American. I like the fact there’s sub categories of this same card to add even more variety as well.
