Somehow and some way he just keeps coming back to life.

Sometimes he doesn’t even die but let’s get to the question.

Why is it so difficult to kill Chucky if he’s just a doll

First of all he can in fact die but is hard to kill because he’s more than just a doll. He has the soul of a serial killer trapped inside as well. It’s gonna take more than just a kick in order to get rid of this doll though. Same as how most horror movie villains appear, they seem easy to evade or even take out but most of the time they’re more than meets the eye.

Final thoughts

So Chucky’s hard to kill because he’s more than just a doll.

When you add in the fact that it’s really the soul of a serial killer stuck inside a children’s toy it gives him certain advantages.

The main is the element of surprise that he can get away with since most don’t know or even believe his secret of being really alive.

Because Chucky’s still powered through voodoo magic it slowly turns the body of the doll into one of a human the longer he stays in it.

He can still be shot to death, stabbed, burned or even strangulation.

It’s shown multiple times and only cements that possibility of killing Chucky if necessary.
