I’ll be explaining why video games cause violence.
This has been an argument since video games started getting a rating system in place and was the topic of debate since I was in grade school.
I’m looking forward to hopefully having a strong opinion about the matter.
Same for you, and if we expect that to happen then we’re gonna want to get a little more educated on the topic.
But without any more time to waste, let’s move forward.
Here we go!
Why does video games cause violence
It’s believed that video games can influence the subconscious and cause gamers to act out the same acts they do in the games they play. Of course this thought would only apply if you were to be playing a violent video game that’s advertised as such. It’s a tough situation when acts of violence happens and when suspects are caught they’ll sometimes reference these games.
I personally think in that scenario it’s just a lack of accountability.
Final thoughts
There’s been plenty of controversial video games that I’ve got to witness since their release.
A few that I came across were:
- Manhunt
- Doom
- Wolfenstein
- Bully
There’s plenty more but those are a few that I personally remember.
I mentioned the conundrum about when cases would pop up in where people across the world would get caught in violent acts and reference the games they would play for giving them the idea.
That’s lack of accountability if we’re being real.
I never see nearly as much blame when it comes to movies and other media that portray violent acts.
